Early Life and Education

Imam Al Juhany was born on 13 January 1976 in Saudi Arabia. He holds a bachelors degree from the faculty of Quran at Islamic University of Madinah, and a doctorate (Ph.D) from Umm al-Qura University in Makkah.

Career

He was appointed as an imam of Masjid Al Haram, Makkah in July 2007.

And since 2008, he has been leading the Taraweeh prayers in Makkah during Ramadan.

Imam Al Juhany’s reputation as a highly-skilled and knowledgeable Islamic scholar quickly spread, and he was soon invited to lead the prayers at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.

This is one of the most prestigious positions an imam can hold, as the Grand Mosque is the most important mosque in Islam and the site of the annual Hajj pilgrimage. Millions of Muslims from around the world come to the mosque to pray every year.
