Jürgen Norbert Klopp (German pronunciation:[ˈjʏʁɡn̩ˈklɔp]^ⓘ; born 16 June 1967) is a German football executive and former manager and player who most recently managed Premier League club Liverpool.

He is widely regarded as one of the best football managers in the world.^[2] Since 1 January 2025, Klopp has been the Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull GmbH.^[3]

Klopp spent most of his playing career at Mainz 05.

He was initially deployed as a striker, but was later moved to defence. Upon retiring in 2001, Klopp became the club's manager, and secured Bundesliga promotion in 2004. After suffering relegation in the 2006–07 season and unable to achieve promotion, Klopp resigned in 2008 as the club's longest-serving manager.
